“State Government aims at reducing marginalization and improving Academic Excellence” – Says Prof .C. Ravindranath

At a time when Govt of Kerala is promoting General Education in a big way major thrust will be organized towards reducing marginalization in education and to promote academic excellence – says Prof. C. Ravindranath, Minister for Education. Governement of Kerala. Minister made this statement while inaugurating the MAPLE (Madappally School Academic Project for Learning and Empowerment) on 3rd March, Saturday at Madappally Government High School. Project MAPLE as well as the logo of the project was also released by the Minister in the function.
MAPLE project aims in skill enhancement of teachers and students of the school, make the teachers, students as well as parents aware of the changes that are happening in the field of education across the world. Moreover the project aims at skill enhancement for students in areas like language enhancement, English communication, Science, Mathematics, social issues, commerce, business studies, and vocational subjects.
The project will also focus on career guidance classes to facilitate appropriate decision making process. Interventions will be made in areas like environmental protection, water conservation, waste management, public health, counselling, biodiversity park, yoga, stress management, palliative care, Civil Service exam preparations, art and culture, sports, athletics, fine arts, music and dance.
ULCCS, foresees the future of the nation in the upcoming generation which is among students. It is with this in mind that ULCCS initiated skill development programme at Madappally School Campus which is in par with the State Governments projects for strengthening general education for students from poor socio economic background.
MAPLE envisages creating academic excellence and converting schools as centres of excellences told Shri. Remeshan Paleri Chairman, ULCCS, during his introductory speech.
Maple Project was explained by Dr. T.P Sethumadhavan, Director UL Education. The function was presided over by Vadakara MLA C.K Nanu for which Remeshan Paleri, Chairman, ULCCS LTD welcomed the gathering. Vadakara Block Panchayath President Kottayil Radhakrishnan, Onchiyam Grmam Panchayat President C. Praseetha, representatives of State Education Department, Principals of Madappally Schools, PTA representatives of Madappally Schools various political party representatives delivered felicitation for the project in the function.
