ULCCS receives ICA Membership

The first primary co-operative society to receive ICA permanent membership in India

February 19th 2019 : Uralungal Labour Contract Co-operative Society receives permanent membership of International Co-operative Alliance. ULCCS Chairman, Shri Remeshan Paleri received the certificate from the ICA President, Ariel Guarco, on his visit to NCUI (National Co-operative Union of India) Delhi on Sunday, 18th February.
ICA permanent membership is awarded to national apex bodies of co-operatives. ULCCS is the first in the State and Country to receive the membership and is the 13th permanent member of ICA.
ICA is the apex body of about 3 million co-operatives world-wide. Being headquartered at Brussels, it unites, represents and serves the co-operatives worldwide and provides global voice and forum for knowledge, expertise and coordinated action for the co-operatives.
The growth, development and diversification of ULCCS has been identified by ICA as a role model for co-operatives to scale up across the borders. ICA membership envisages ULCCS to partner with ICA technology, skill development, education and capacity building across ICA member countries. As part of this membership, ULCCS will propose to establish international center for excellence in skill development, advanced technology and training in association with ICA in Delhi.
