Valiyazheekkal bridge, being constructed across the Kayamkulam lake, is ULCCS’ biggest bridge project to date. One of the five projects under the District Flagship Infrastructure Project (DFIP) scheme, this bridge will connect Alappuzha and Kollam districts, thereby enabling huge savings in travel time and cost. Once completed, the bridge will bring a new lease of life to the development dreams of the coastal regions of the two districts. The bridge will be 1229 metres long, including the approach road. This is a project awarded by the Public works Department, South Circle. The project will be completed within a time period of 3 years and is expected to cost around Rs. 132 crores. The project will firmly establish ULCCS as a construction major operating in all parts of Kerala, as opposed to just North Kerala.
